Cancellation Policy (Purchase Options) – The Island Society

1. Overview

This Cancellation Policy explains your rights to cancel an order placed with The Island Society (Jacques Enterprise LTD) via www.theislandsociety.co.uk.

This policy applies to all purchases made online unless otherwise stated at the point of sale.

2. Your Legal Right to Cancel (UK Consumers)

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your online order within 14 days without giving any reason.

The cancellation period expires 14 days after the day you (or someone you nominate) receives the goods.

3. How to Cancel an Order

To exercise your right to cancel, you must inform us clearly of your decision.

Please include:

  • Your name

  • Order number

  • Confirmation that you wish to cancel

You may use your own wording; you do not need to use a specific form.

4. After You Cancel

If you cancel your order:

  • You must return the goods to us within 14 days of notifying us of cancellation

  • Items must be returned in unused and resalable condition where reasonably possible

5. Refunds

Once we receive the returned goods (or proof of return), we will issue a refund including the standard delivery cost (where applicable).

Refunds will be processed within 5–10 working days of receiving the returned items.

We may make a deduction from your refund if the goods show signs of use beyond what is necessary to inspect them.

6. Return Costs

Unless the item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect, you are responsible for return shipping costs.

We recommend using a tracked delivery service, as we cannot be responsible for items lost in transit during returns.

7. Exceptions to Cancellation Rights

Your right to cancel does not apply to:

  • Sealed items which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons if unsealed after delivery (where applicable)

  • Customised or personalised products

  • Items clearly marked as non-returnable at the point of purchase

8. Faulty or Incorrect Items

If your item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect, this cancellation policy does not affect your statutory rights.

9. Pre-Orders

For pre-order items, cancellation rights apply unless the product description states otherwise. If production has already started or dispatch is imminent, cancellation may not always be possible.
